This page gives information about using the Web Interface. This page tries to be light, and only covers the most essential commands. Most of it is self-explanatory.

To view the general list information page, go to http://mailman.nmsu.edu/mailman/listinfo

For owners/moderators who wish to administer their list, you must go to: "http://mailman.nmsu.edu/mailman/admin/listname" where listname is the name of your list.

You will need a password for access to the admin pages.

Using the Mailman Web Interface

The following covers using the Web Interface as a list owner or moderator.

To do list administration, point a browser to: "http://mailman.nmsu.edu/mailman/admin/listname" where listname is the name of your list. You must log in with the administrator's password to do any of the web interface.

One thing to keep in mind: If you aren't sure what clicking on a button will do, you probably shouldn't do it.

  1. Viewing/Modifying Subscribers

    To view members of list, do the following:

    • From the main admin page, click on "Membership Management"
    • The "Membership Managment" Section should expand into more links. Click on "Membership List"
    • From here, you can unsubscribe users by checking the "unsub" box for each subscriber and clicking "Submit Your Changes"
    • You can also make any other changes to the user prefs from this page.
  2. Mass Subscription

    To add numberous e-mails at once, do the following:

    • From the main admin page, click on "Membership Management"
    • The "Membership Managment" Section should expand into more links. Click on "Mass Subscription"
    • Choose subsciption options, such as the option to send welcome message to new subscribers
    • In the first text box, type out all of the e-mail addresses, one per line.
    • In the second large text box, type out a welcome greeting for the new subscribers, if you wish.
  3. Change Administrative Password

    To change your Administrator Password, do the following:

    • From the main admin page, click on "Passwords"
    • Type the new password in both fields as prompted, and click "Submit Your Changes"
